Healing from Church Hurt: When the Pain Came From the Place That Was Supposed to Help You Heal.

A man's spirit will endure sickness, but a crushed spirit who can bear?

Proverbs 18:14

I know what it feels like to have your spirit crushed by pastors who were supposed to care for it. The pain leaves you confused, wandering, feeling lost and hopeless and scared to trust again. Jesus never intended His sheep...His daughters...to be hurt, especially not by those in the Church who are charged to love and protect them. I also know what it feels like to be rescued by Goel, my Redeemer. I'm living proof that your spirit can heal and be whole, and you can learn to love and trust again.

Church Hurt Is Real, But It Does Not Have to Define Your Future

One of the most painful realities many believers face is being wounded in the very place where they expected to find love, acceptance, guidance, and spiritual growth.

For some, the hurt came through rejection.

For others, it came through control, manipulation, gossip, favoritism, abuse of authority, betrayal, or public humiliation.

Whatever form it took, the result is often the same. Trust is broken. Faith feels shaken. Questions begin to surface. Many people find themselves wondering whether they can ever trust church leadership again, whether God sees what happened, or whether they will ever fully heal.

If that is where you find yourself today, I want you to know that you are not alone.

More importantly, I want you to know that healing is possible.

My Story

Years ago, I was kicked out of church because I was pregnant and unmarried.

What followed was one of the most painful seasons of my life. The rejection was devastating, not only because of what happened, but because of where it happened. The people I trusted to help shepherd me through a difficult season instead became a source of deep emotional and spiritual pain.

For a long time, I believed the greatest wound was being kicked out.

God eventually revealed something different.

Through prayer, Scripture, and a process of healing that unfolded over many years, He showed me that the church hurt had exposed wounds that existed long before the voicemail was ever left on my phone. What I thought was the root was actually the fruit.

That revelation changed everything.

Because once God revealed the root, He could heal it.

What Church Hurt Really Does

Church hurt rarely stays contained to the event itself.

It affects the way we view God.

It affects the way we trust people.

It affects our identity.

It affects our willingness to serve, connect, forgive, and believe again.

Many people spend years trying to recover from church hurt without ever identifying the deeper wounds that were uncovered through the experience.

Until those wounds are addressed, healing often feels incomplete.

This is why so many people leave church but still carry the pain with them for years afterward.

The Good News

The good news is that Jesus is not intimidated by your questions, your disappointment, your anger, or your pain.

The same Jesus who met the Samaritan woman at the well is still meeting wounded people today.

He still heals.

He still restores.

He still redeems.

And He still specializes in restoring what others have damaged.

Your experience with people is not a reflection of God's heart toward you.

The failures of imperfect leaders do not diminish the goodness of a perfect Savior.

How I Help Women Heal from Church Hurt

As a Certified Transformation Life Coach, Certified Master Life Coach, Bible teacher, author, and founder of the UnCovered Coaching Program, I help women identify the roots behind the pain they carry and partner with God in the healing process.

Through biblical teaching, transformational coaching, practical application, and Holy Spirit-led discovery, women learn how to:

  • Process the pain of church hurt in a healthy way

  • Identify deeper wounds that may have been exposed

  • Separate God's character from people's behavior

  • Rebuild trust in their relationship with God

  • Restore their identity in Christ

  • Break unhealthy cycles rooted in rejection and shame

  • Move forward with greater clarity, freedom, and confidence

Healing does not happen overnight, but it is possible.

I know because I have walked that road myself.

You Don't Have to Walk Through This Alone

If church hurt has left you feeling disconnected, discouraged, confused, or stuck, I want to invite you to take the next step toward healing.

You are not defined by what happened to you.

You are not disqualified because of what others did.

And your story is not over.

The same God who met me in my pain and led me through healing is able to do the same for you.

Let's talk about where you are, what you're carrying, and whether the UnCovered Coaching Program may be the next step in your healing journey.
